Wow! We were so overwhelmed by the support we received for our first ever Virtual Cabaret event and would like to thank each and every one of you who purchased a ticket or made a donation to Stoke Amateur Theatre Society.
In total, we raised an amazing £492.50, all of which will be put towards the production costs of our next show… Pantomime 2021: Treasure Island!
In case you missed it, the cabaret included numbers from Bonnie & Clyde, Matilda the Musical, Hamilton, Come From Away, Chess, Mamma Mia and the Lion King to name just a few! The cast favourite has to be, our Chairman, Rob's rendition of 'He Lives In You' from the Lion King... between the amazing vocals and percussion break, he really stole the show!
The response from our virtual audience was fantastic and has truly made us realise just how much we miss performing on stage next to our #SATSFamily.
During the show our ‘S.A.T.S Cast’ group chat was filled with love and support for one another as we got the rare opportunity to sit and watch the show from an audience’s perspective. We marvelled at how much our junior cast have grown over the past year, applauded the talent coming from members who we’d never heard sing before and celebrated amongst the general feel-good family vibes the group are so well known for.
Although we’re sure everyone wished this was a production we could have performed in person, there were memories created on Saturday night which will never be forgotten. The Virtual Cabaret has instilled hope and excitement in each and every one of us and we’re looking forward to producing 'Treasure Island', a pantomime like no other, performed at the Mitchell Arts Centre, Christmas 2021!
